Imperial Guard SDKFZ Hanomag conversion WIP (5)

FINALLY! First test with my airbrush, so far, was unused. A bloody week I had to wait to find time to prove it. And I have to admit one thing, I loved to paint with the airbrush, I believe, is the best buy I've made in years, related to the hobby of course. Well, then here are the pictures.

In these first pictures, you will see the preparation that I had to do to avoid staining the inside, which had already painted before, and to mark the lines of color scheme.
These are the tank before it has made the black chaos spray and once I've put the spray and I have given the layer with the airbrush.

By taking away the tapes, we see the result, which for the first time I use an airbrush, I think not to look bad at all .... XD

Como despintar miniaturas de metal (How to remove paint from metal miniatures)

Well here I bring a new "mini tutorial". This time is how to remove paint from metal minis. It may seem obvious, however, there may be people who dont know any method to do this. To do this, we will use only 3 things:

- Aguarras.
-Turpentine.

-Bote de cristal.
-Glass jar.

-Cepillo de dientes.
-Toothbrush

Note: If the glass jar is short and stocky better, allowing us to cover either the mini and then take the mini to de jar easily. As for the brush, if it is with irregular surface better because scratching better. I know the photos are not necessary to know what I mean when I name each material, but it seemed too bland without pictures XD.

Well, before you start, make sure you remove the plastic parts that can carry the mini, if it has, if not, will dissolve like sugar ... Once done, pour the turpentine in the jar. The amount of turpentine will depend on the miniature in question.

Now insert the thumbnail in the turpentine without fear, will not dissolve ^ ^. When they last about 10 minutes we will see how the paint is cracked and starting to peel off. It's time to take a stick of wood or metal and stir a bit. When we see that the paint starts to peel off by itself, we left about 15 minutes more.

Now take rubber gloves (I have not tested with latex gloves, so I do not know if the paint thinner will dissolve, do not believe it but hey) and take the mini of turpentine. Now we take the toothbrush and rub the mini with it, being careful not to stain. If once we've finished scrubbing, there are still traces of paint, to reintroduce the Mini in turpentine once again. We must repeat the process until we see that the mini is to our liking. Once we remove all the paint, give it a bath of water and a cloth to dry.

And we have our mini to be painted again!

Imperial Guard "MK IV Male" conversion WIP

After having this large tank parked a few months, not knowing that putting on to make it look more like tanks W40K, I finally lit the lamp. It occurred to me to put a turret with a cannon, which could make the effect of mortar or cannon battle. These are the pictures of the tank and what will be his future turret.

What to do when you have a lot of surplus weapons and want to convert a square to give a different look? Well, the answer is simple, combine ...
This time I bring some examples of combinations of weapons to give a different look to a squad of Imperial Guard Veteran, for example. I love guns, so what better way to get new ideas that based on real weapons?. These are the weapons, with weapons in which inspired me in some way, to create them.

This is a Space Marine Command Squad that I bought many years ago. The curious thing happened to me with this squad is that between the day I started to paint and the day I finished, I spent about 4 years, and of course you can see the jump in quality between the first 3 and 6 I painted last, but Well, here I leave the photos.

Estas son las miniaturas que pinte primero.

These are the first painted miniatures

Como hacer efecto óxido. (How to make oxide effect)

Bueno, por fin me he atrevido a sacar mi primer "tutorial". Bueno, comencemos.

Well, finally I decided to make my first "tutorial. " The tutorial shows how to make easy the effect of rust on tanks. I thought this way because it is suitable for both beginners and people with a little more experience. Well, let's begin.

I will show how you can make a tank rust effect. In this case will be on a gray, but the same technique can be applied to other base colors, but would have to change the colors to paint the rust.
To make the rust, we will use a piece of foam, such as this.
This type of "paint tool" is good for its irregular surface. Later as I will show that on the mini and you will see what I mean.

voy a utilizar tres colores, <gris azul glaro><negro><tierra>.

The base component is color painting <light blue gray> of  Vallejo. So in this case, to the main surface of the oxide, I will use three colors, <light blue gray> <black> <brown earth>.
I've used these for the following reason, gray is for the mixture has a tone similar to the base, black to darken and brown to give it a more reddish.

A Once you have mixed the colors and color tone to your liking to apply, you must dip a little foam in the paint and then you dry it a bit with a piece of paper or cloth, this is not to apply too much paint . Once applied, it should look like this:

Finally, we will use a fourth color, in this case a leather color, slightly lighter than a brown one we used above. Now comes the trickiest part, because if we apply more paint than necessary,we will stain too much the rust and would not look good.  So, following the previous method, we dip the foam on some paint, but this time it will dry a bit more than before. If you seem too bright color, you can soak a bit in the base color you have mixed to soften. Applying the color carefully, the result should look something like this:
